The Role
A wonderful environment to work in. Friendly people with an up to date and challenging workload
Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. It was a small office who were social and interactive.
Support was always available but I was given enough independence to learn my own direction at the same time.
Workload was variable but usually had more than enough time to complete each task.
I was given more responsibility throughout my time in the office so was able to use the skills I was learning as I went.
The skills I learnt are very useful and relevant to my degree. I feel the placement also gave me a great snapshot of working life which is invaluable.
The Company
People were friendly and chatty and often brought in cakes etc to celebrate birthdays and such like.
It was well organised and coincided with another placement student which helped me to settle in.
I had learning objectives and targets which were under weekly review and I was helped to actively work towards them by my supervisor.
There are lots of interesting departments and scope for progression.
The Culture
I did not live locally so this was hard to gauge. The office was in a small market town which is pretty and peaceful but not much obvious nightlife.
Renting in the area seemed quite expensive but the nearest big town was cheaper and has quite a large club/party scene.
I believe there are more opportunities in the town about 15-2inutes away
Lots of sports/exercise events or fundraising
