    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • got to see some very interesting stuff and gave a very good insight into what being a lawyer entails, especially in London.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everyone was very friendly and welcoming and at no point did I feel as if i was a burden for anyone which was very pleasing for me. The tasks i was given also helped me feel included as part of the team.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The training buddy and associate i was with were always there when i needed help and they never neglected me. I was always well guided according to the task i was doing.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Has shown me how a large firm works and in particular a law firm. when it comes to choosing my degree if i choose law it shows the university i have had an interest in law for along time.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Always had things planned each day, at no point did I find myself sitting with nothing to do. The trip to the law courts was particularly interesting.

  • Very friendly and including.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • both the associate and buddy were willing to give up their time to help and look after me. I also had my own account set up on the computer so i could all the features on the computer and firms intraweb

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • before the work experience i was interested in law but did not have a real idea as to what a day to day life as one was like but after my week i do.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Showed that the company is really just like one family, with each team dependent on the other.l However i was only there for a short period i did not get to see the all the different areas of the company.

  • Showed me that a career as a lawyer is a fulfilling, interesting job and has definitely made me more determined to become one.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • all travel and lunch expenses were all paid for.


  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • on the first day there was a talk with two trainee lawyers which gave us an insight into how life as one actually is however there could have been more done.

  • as there was limited time there was an awful lot of chance form social events.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • through contact with the associate i was paired with i found out that the firm has a wide range of events and activities employees could get involved in.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Definitely! had a really fun week which also gave me great insight and experience.
