    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I worked in the sample studio. I learnt SO much here. It was a really enjoyable and exciting experience!

  • Very valued by the studio manager. She is extremely kind and patient.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The studio manager supported me through everything and trained me really quickly and thoroughly and had made me a much more confident person. She is very patient and doesn't get angry if you get it wrong!

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Extremely busy for some weeks and not so busy for some weeks. It was a good balance. The days went very fast and I was never bored.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A lot. They really trust the students in cutting out patterns by themselves and let them get on with jobs without supervision- this was really nice as it meant they were confident in us.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt more in the first week of interning here than I have in 2 years of university. It was extremely helpful and I am so great full for my time here.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was always busy and people could be stressed but even if they were everybody was still always king and pleasant. Staff wouldn't hesitate to help students and they felt like friends.

  • Extremely expensive to live in London.

  • There are good bars and restaurants in Islington and is just a walk away from the centre!
