  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • actually alot, surprising since I was an intern but they actually took time out to learn about me and only gave me tasks they thought would actually help me develop. they didnt get me doing standard admin or anything.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • alot of support, a different member of my team looked in on me each day, some took me out to lunch others showed me around the building. they each checked I wasnt bored and actually each week they gave me a list of tasks and said which ones would you like to be involved with

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • my desk was never empty but i never had to stay late to finish anything. 1 day I was on a site visit and got back at 6 30 so next day they said leave early to make up for it.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I wasnt running the show but they actually gave me tasks to do that they would each do, they would check on it to make sure I hadnt made any mistakes etc but they let me email clients, compile client reports and be involved in an internal board presentation

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • the contacts i made definately helped me as if I had a question I could call them for advice regarding an essay topic, I understood proffessional documents much and it just gave me lots of real world skills that meant I could make my theoretical arguements real by applying them to actual market situations

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great atmosphere, theres a great work hard play hard vibe, but it is also really relaxed, as long as you do your work and perform no one minds if you take longer on your lunch or you leave slightly earlier. they all know its give and take and theres a good level of respect with that

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • cannot fault it at all. Arrived and had my own login details and laptop set up. Company stationary and security pass were on my desk waiting. My manager had planned my first day out for me involving a tour of the building meeting the team, taking me for lunch to find out about me. I even got given my own company umbrella which i still have.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I went on 3 courses in my 5 weeks and these were courses full time employees go on and were like £500 each. I never expected that, especially as kind of a few weeks later i would leave and could potentially never see them again

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Jones Lang LaSalle are based in the financial services area of Bham and so are all the other property businesses and financial consultants such as PWC and KPMG. Because of all the professional services around the bars are all really trendy and do cheap good food for quick business lunches. there are so many bars as well in such a short space and you always know someone from one of the firms in there so it makes it friendly

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • we do alot of activities. we play in a annual rugby sevens tournament and have a team in a five-a-side league. In summer we do 2 volunteering days and do an annual clay pigeon shoot for the office. They also do a client cylcing tour which has gone from london to Paris, Paris to Geneva, Geneva to Nice and this year Nice to Carcasonne.
