    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Good support, very well organised and beneficial to my personal and professional development. Helped me decide on a career direction.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Teachers were very busy, but there were quite a few occasions where teachers said they appreciated my presence in the classroom.

  • Very good support, can't fault it.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Never was I overloaded with work, and given enough guidance and help to meet the requirements of the placement.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was responsible for arranging my own lessons and for arranging my AimHigher requirement of the scheme.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I acquired good organisational skills. Had to balance the placement with my university workload.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Just about right. Teachers sometimes very stressed, extremely busy so never really relaxed.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The Head of English had a timetable ready for me for when I arrived, and made sure that I was briefed on everything.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I received a £600 bursary for taking part in the placement, and very good support throughout.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Good opportunities to continue training, PGCE. Student Associate Scheme excellent experience that could get me on to the course.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • No other placement students when I was there, and staff really didn't have time to have a social life because they were too busy.

  • It was ok.

  • It was in a residential area.
