    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The balance between work and social was extremely well balanced. All the people were nice and welcoming, always trying to help when they had time.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • At the end of the internship my team took me out in town and made a small circle and applauded me. They also made me a small gift and wrote a postcard. It was a great experience!

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager moved to a different team, so for about 2 weeks I had less guidance. Except that everything was fine.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I managed to finish my project way ahead of schedule, so I was pair programming on daily tasks with my colleagues. The learning curve was extremely steep and I had much fun while learning. They also sent me to various trainings regarding the work that I was doing.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The actual responsibility was quite small. Because I was working on an internal use app (that my team would use to deploy software). The responsibility was referring especially to the testing phase of the app. As an error in designing it would have been really bad for the team's reputation.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt much about clean code and testing. My assignments seem much more easier now and testing is always on my hands to finish everything sooner and make it better. An increase in my scores a decrease in the time spent on the assignments has been definitely noticed.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was like a big family. Very friendly atmosphere.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • A lot of social events, both with the team and the other interns.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Very much training for all levels. And access to important resources, having accessible almost any book or learning material.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Looking forward to going back.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The interns were split between the two headquarters. So there was little interaction between the two groups.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
