Role Description

Worked in Financial Planning department preparing financial statements and sending these out to customers.

  1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  2. The work was much more interesting than basic admin but was quite repetitive. There wasn't a huge amount of variation but it was nice to do a job which was actually quite valuable.


  3. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  4. My colleagues were really welcoming and friendly.


  5. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  6. I was always able to ask questions if needed and never made to feel like I shouldn't.


  7. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  8. I had a lot of work to get done which was good because I never had nothing to do.


  9. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  10. I was performing a task which was actually valuable which was much nicer than doing filing work for example.


  11. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  12. I was able to develop quite a lot of skills from working independently and in a team.


  13. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  14. They seemed to have quite a few events going on.


  15. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  16. The work placement was well organised and there was plenty of work to do.


  17. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  18. They sent me to the London office to learn more about the work there which was interesting to see.

  22. I was offered a position after my work experience.


  23. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

  25. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  26. I lived at home and commuted quite a distance.


  27. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  28. Not much nightlife where I worked at all.


  29. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  30. There seemed to be several events which it would be possible to get involved with e.g. rounders, cricket
