    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The scheme lasted for three weeks and included working in two different departments and visiting the Paris office. The Paris trip was really enjoyable.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I was pleased when my supervisor gave me interesting tasks and valued my findings in the research. However, I did not always get feedback for the tasks I did.

  • Having a trainee buddy was helpful because they were the first port of call for questions and insights into the firm

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Legal research tasks were very rewarding as I learnt alot about the areas of law. It was also useful writing legal memorandums and learning how tro structure the information for a client.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The three weeks had a good balance of social events and work. There could have been a few more presentations and question and answer sessions in order to meet lawyers across more different departments at the firm.

  • Lawyers were friendly and so were graduate recruitment and other members of the vacation scheme.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Sometimes I did not get feedback for tasks or work I did at the firm. It would have been excellent to have more presentations on career development at the firm.

  • Speaking to trainees really helped me understand the type of work they do and the hours they work.

  • I spoke to alot of people and was able to see how diverse and friendly the firm was.

  • It confirmed my desire to work in an international firm.

  • It would have been better to have had the opportunity to network with more lawyers from different departments during a social or drinks event.
