About You
There were highly detailed practice area talks each week, which really illustrated the sort of work the firm does.
We had to do a client pitch presentation, which required working together as a team over a period of two weeks. This was very useful and will guide me in future presentation scenarios.
The Company
We had a booklet setting out everything that was happening (time, place etc) and all the events went to plan.
We had practice area talks for all the major departments, which were very detailed and useful. All the associates and trainees were very happy to chat about their roles in the firm.
The insight gave me an idea of what work was done in the office, although as both of the departments I sat were relatively quiet, I did not get much of an opportunity to put this knowledge into practice.
It enabled me to talk to a range of different members of the firm to get a good idea of what working there was like.
Everything Else
We attended a garden party, where most members of the firm were present at. Graduate recruitment also organised lunch events for the vacation schemers so that we had an opportunity to speak to them and get to know each other.
We attended two lunch events, a garden party on the roof-top terrace and a cocktail-making event.
We had diversity and pro bono talks, but no talks on the sorts of firm activities we could get involved in.
