    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed this placement. It had its challenges at times but I guess this is only reflective of the industry and gave a realistic introduction!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • We were given the pleasure of getting to meet a lot of Partners in the firm and even had the opportunity to go to a networking breakfast. The fact that we had such constant and up=close contact with partners made me feel valued.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • You are provided with a buddy who is there to assist you with any of the projects throughout you week. Even those who aren't your buddy are more than willing to answer any questions you may have regarding any aspect of the industry.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The tasks and projects that you are required to do during the fortnight are incredibly useful for improving your confidence and skills, especially in presentational and analytical skills.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The structure of the programme is great because it is a good mix of pre-planned events and free-time for you to plan and arrange to suit you. This provides the perfect opportunity for you to go and explore the areas that most interest you.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere at GS was amazing and is one of the main reasons I am excited to be able to return next Summer. The Graduate Recruitment Team also stressed how there was potentially a place on the Summer for all of the Easter interns and this removed the highly competitive atmosphere between interns and allowed everyone to achieve their full potential.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I felt that the company invested a high amount of time, energy and money into us as Spring Interns. We were treated to a lot of opportunities and this resulted in an incredible experience.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Due to the longer than usual time period of the insight, it meant that we were really able to experience the firm and what it would be like to be a full-time employee at the firm

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • We had a lot of sessions to introduce us and expose us to the central values of GS and this was useful for helping you understand where you would fit in and whether your values aligned with that of the company.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • When I left after the fortnight, I had a clear idea of what a graduate role would entail at the company and was enthusiastic about getting into the industry

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was also provided with accommodation because I live outside the M25

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Some were pre-arranged but you were also encouraged to set these up for yourself

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • it was really nice to have social/networking events that were firm-wide as you were then able to meet interns who were in other divisions.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I did not really ask this question but it was obvious that colleagues were also friends outside of work and must have done activities together, such as exercise classes at the gym at work.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my experience on this programme and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is keen to get into the industry.
