    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed it! Work was varied and I was given a lot of real responsibility. My manager was great throughout the year and gave me a lot of freedom in terms of working hours.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I was not treated like a placement student at all. I have been an integral part of the team all year and given the same responsibility as full time employees.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager always made sure that I was ok in both my work and personal life. If I wanted experience in a certain area of business, he made sure he gave me that opportunity.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I went through stages of been incredibly busy (during project phases) and times where I was only doing my core work. Overall I had a good balance.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given some incredible opportunities which included running a project within the company! Having to meet strict deadlines and also organising colleagues who were working with me.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt more over my year at Xerox than I have during my 2 years at University!

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Perfect balance of work and play. Allowed to have a laugh as long as work was completed.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It had its rough patches, but overall was well organised.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given free reign on what training I wanted to do so it was down to me how much I wanted to get from the company.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    Healthcare from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would work for Xerox again, if it was in an area of business i was interested in.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Nights out, football matches ect. Good student atmosphere within a corporate environment.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Just outside of London, so expensive if you wanted to go out anywhere but Uxbridge!

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Awesome in Central London (although expensive), Uxbridge has a Liquid so nightlife is not great.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not sure! Several charity events which were set up by students.

    3/5
