    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It was great to see/ hear about so many different areas of the operations business during the two day programme. Hearing how various members of staff had progressed in their roles and what each role entailed within ops was very helpful. The insight was very varied and included job shadowing, presentations and role play. The networking opportunities were also very helpful and it was interesting to be able to speak directly to staff. I will be applying for the internship for next Summer. ( I attended Spring Break in Bournemouth).

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The HR team were very welcoming and were actively encouraging graduates to apply. J.P seemed very keen to educate the students on life as an employee. The atmosphere in the office was friendly. There was no heir-achy between senior members of staff and the students/ other staff.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The process leading up to the insight was informative and we were given plenty of information on the 2 day program.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I am applying for the internship then hope to join the graduate scheme. A lot of ground was covered over a short space of time. It was very helpful to be fully informed on the recruitment process.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was well planned and organised.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • There was time to interact with the other students, HR and staff. Networking drinks were organised for the first evening. There was a serious undertone to all of the information being delivered, which is as expected for a financial institution. The work-life balance of the employees seemed to be a topic of discussion - they seemed content.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We were handed information on careers, background information and fs. There was no training due to the type of program.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Being able to discuss the jobs and roles with graduates on the grad scheme and staff was very insightful. The HR team were also very helpful with additional queries.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The environment of the offices was welcoming and there was genuine emphasis on care of the employees.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I had a good idea that I wanted to join the internship program and this experience cemented that.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I incurred no expenses, though most people that travelled were.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were networking receptions and lunches. There was also the opportunity to hand out JP business cards which were given to students in the morning.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The staff at the social events were very welcoming. The room may seem a little intimidating if you are not used to networking environments. Sometimes there were 4 or 5 students to one employee, though this wasn't a problem.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I live in the local area so already familiar with local activities. Though there was discussion of team socials.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would recommend this to someone who is interested in operations, investment banking or FS.
