    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight was a very valuable insight into Investment banking and a crucial head start in the application process of JPMorgan which is very competitive. they made great efforts to make it enjoyable.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Having only spent a week at the firm it was difficult to fit in completely but the teams did provide us with individual tasks on the desks and also a group project during the week which occupied lots of our time.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The HR team was fantastic in helping us with any concerns or niggles, such as rearranging timings or meeting MDs. They put is in contact with people they thought would help us and offered useful advice with networking and shadowing.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The networking skills sessions were conducted by the in house HR team and were not as slick as one might have expected. They were fairly generic advice and involved little interaction. They were still helpful though.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The programme was carefully prepared and timed to the nearest 15mins. Whilst this plan did inevitably run over sometimes it was well thought out and executed with militarily precision.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • It was professional but also quite competitiive and formal, because everyone knew they were competing for summer internships. The other intern people were good fun to be around though.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There was some work on soft skills but mostly our time was spent shadowing real graduates which was very helpful. On a personal level of training though it was a little superificial.

    3/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The week was very real and the shadowing parts were with the real graduated and involved real life hours. i.e. some people started at 6am if their choices entailed that.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Despite the inevitable PR onslaught at the beginning, the employees were very honest and forthcoming with their opinions and provided an invaluable insight into JPM's culture.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • 5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Accomodation was provided in Central London and travel to London was covered. However no tube fares were covered.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, there were 2 evening events for the interns and several networking lunches with senior employees. there were also opportunities to go for lunch with graduates and have coffee with speakers which was very helpful.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • They were very relaxed and enjoyable and did not feel too pressurised as they could have done in other banks. The drinks and food provided a nice atmosphere in which to socialise.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • To an extent, but most of the time was spent focused on the work rather than social time.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • It was a fantastic insight and I definitely learnt a lot from it. It will also look fantastic on my CV and can hopehully act as a springboard to greater internships within the industry and perhaps JPM.

    5/5
