    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It was an intense week, full of presentations, networking sessions and group exercises. This kept us busy throughout the whole day and meant that time flew by.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everyone who gave presentations, attended netwroking sessions were very welcoming and looked genuinely interested in getting to know us as individuals and learning about our motivations and incentives that drive us to apply to the bank.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Throughout the week, the Campus Recruitment Team were readily available to address any concerns, queries or changes that we had. The staff who gave presentations were also very willing to address any queries that we had often staying after the presentations to answer more questions individually.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have definitely learnt that pressure and a competitive atmosphere enables me to push myself beyond limits. I have become more aware of how to interact with people in a professional atmosphere, within a group and during numerous networking sessions.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was fairly well-structured. The only day that I did not like was on Tuesday when we had a large lunch gap lasting over 2 hours. I would have preferred us having this large gap on Wednesday as we would have been in a better position to use this time to prepare for our presentation the next day.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was generally good. However, during the presentation I felt that the panel of judges were too serious and tend to cast a tense atmosphere. This further intimidated us as interns and did not help us feel a bit relaxed or boost our confidence prior to the presentation.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They invested a lot of resources to ensure that we met numerous individuals from different sectors. We were each give a book on Understanding global financial markets which I find incredibly useful to better understanding the industry.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The panelists always gave us an insight on a typical day for them. They answered our questions and were always willingly to answer our numerous questions. We were able to work shadow two members of staff for 2 hours. However, I feel that more work shadowing should have been organised as they gave us a better understanding of what full tie role is like. Plus they should have been longer sessions as two hours is rather little time.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • meeting employees was an effective way of learning about the culture. Not only did they talk about the culture when asked but you could also see it through the way they interacted with each other throughout the different events and.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The day was full of presentations on the different sectors and divisions within the firm. The panels also talked at length about their careers and the Q&A sessions helped us to target and ask specific concerns, questions that we had on the industry. This helped us addres stereotype ideas that we had instilled in our minds on working in this sector.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Though I live in London, I will be reimbursd from my travel. Students from across Europe were given accommodation and reimbursed ticket expenses without hassle which I thought was very good on the banks side.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • every meal was an opportunity to network. After every presentation we had the chance to talk to panelists/ presenters. However, I found that at times we were rushed, which made us feel pressured to speak fast and not address all our questions and queries.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • It was generally good. However, on one occasion the food being served during the networking event was messy and made it difficult/ embarrassing to talk and network with such food. Also, at times there were not enough employees to network with. But in general they were very good.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • This part was dealt with on the last day principally which I thought was a very good way to wrap up the week. The talked about the csr side of the company and how employees were encouraged to participate. They were also very honest in telling that aside from helping the community this also provided a good way for the staff to socialise outside the office while doing something good

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes. I thought it was an amazing experience. I especially loved my introduction to the group exercises that I could be faced with at assessment centers. Meeting other students who also wanted to enter this sector made me realise how competitive and difficult it is to enter the sector and gave me the motivation to work harder at university to get there.
