My manager gave me fantastic support through weekly progress meetings. In addition, I felt welcome to ask for support when required.
The benefits of working at Verizon was the ability to work on my project in a flexible basis that allowed me to manage my time with other personal skills development commitments.
I was assigned my own process improvement project that would ultimately contribute to the cost saving of the business, this was a privileged and trusted position to be in.
The nature of my business process improvement project gave me transferable skills that assisted me with time management, leadership, creative thinking and team working abilities that I see as valuable skills benefiting me in my degree studies and I know will help me in the world of work.
The Company
The atmosphere was professional, this allowed me to feel comfortable whilst working.
The work placement at this company has been running for many years, the organization has been tried and tested by the time I joined giving me a smooth deployment of work.
I was given scheduled time in the week to develop my personal soft and hard skills through training work shops online and in class rooms. This helped me immensely.

Staff Sales/Staff Shop
There is considerable scope for future employment prospects within the graduate scheme. This would allow me to pursue a particular career path within the company that appealed to me.
The Culture
There was many opportunities to socialize with fellow placement students, giving a sense of group cohesion as well as leisurely time outside of work.
The company building is close to the near by shopping center with high street prices no more than any other town center, allowing me and fellow placement students to enjoy ourselves on a budget.
The nightlife was very entertaining for me and my colleagues, we had a variety of outlets such as restaurants, cinema and pubs/clubs.
We were given the opportunity to take part in a departmental football club, this helped to develop us as a team and build stronger relationships.
