    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I would never suppose that I will enjoy this placement so much. I really felt that my work was necessary and my line manager took seriously my opinion.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I worked in a quite small, 'cosy' engineering office. Poeople there were talkative and at ease.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My supervisor was the best supervisor ever! It seems he really wanted to teach the know-how the young generation.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I had always things to do. Sometimes the work was very intense and sometimes the was no rush. It depended on a situation the project was then.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I loved that. I had a time to analise a problem by myself and find a solution. After that we disscussed with my supervisor the things which need to be improved/changed/omitted etc. I could always ask questions in case of any doubts.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I experienced how a real engineering work looks like and how an engineer should behave to a labourer to create a good team. I experienced how the work is ogranised to run a massive project.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • kind of a familly atmosphere, really nice.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • When I joined the team my supervisor told me the same day what are his ideas for a job for me for the next few months!

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I had an opportunity to undergo a special, expensive 'Confined Spaces' training to enter a tunnel and 'Asbestos Awareness' training. I could do more if I wanted, there was no problem with that.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Company Parties/Events

    Healthcare/Dental

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Don't know yet, but it seems there is a big chance to come back!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Unfortunatelly it was London. Luckily South-East London not Central, but still London.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There wasn't much nightlife in the aera I worked, because it was kind of periphery of the city, but nobody lived exactly there or very nearby, so the nightlife really depended on where was your home! My was near my job and at the same time near university campus and its facilities:)

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Oh yes, it was very close to Olimpics!

    5/5
