  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • The work was interesting, challenging and allowed utilisation of existing skills without being unnecessarily difficult.

    • A perfect complement to my studies - they went out of their way to find something both sides would find beneficial.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Fairly quiet but not stressed.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • The team had everything ready for me when I arrived, including my computer systems and telephone line. On the HR side of things it took a lot more time to get everything sorted out but it was done in enough time.

    • Every opportunity to develop and learn was given.

    • The placement has made me very positive about National Grid and will apply to their graduate scheme when the time comes.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • Good group of us ate lunch together every day - was sometimes a struggle to find a table!

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • Cost of living and socialising can be high, depending on where you go. However, much cheaper than London!

    • Plenty of pubs and bars around, and a number of clubs.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

    • Several clubs run, providing sporting and cultural opportunities.
