The Role
A real challenge, but varied, informative and enjoyable throughout.
A close-knit, where even as a 2 week vacation scheme student, it was straightforward chatting to the lawyers.
On formal and informal work, both of my supervisors gave up their valuable time to support and teach me.
There was always work to be done, but no need to put yourself under undue pressure.
It varied with different tasks, and obviously there is very little responsibility I could actually have taken on, however on my first day I compiled a note that was sent, with minimal mark-up, to the client. This set a good precedent.
The combination of formal classes and exercises with the continued opportunity to ask less formal questions of the lawyers meantime learnt a lot about the job and working at Weil.
The Company
Certainly an atmosphere of focus, but with a calm and amiable air.
Lots of different activities, all very well organised. We were extremely well looked after.
We had lectures on various aspects of firm strategy, and on all the major practice areas. These were extremely informative and helped understand the work of the firm, but also to place it in the wider London legal market.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I was fortunate enough to be offered a job..
The Culture
We met for drinks some nights after work, and for lunch on most days too. It was very friendly considering it was essentially a 2 week interview.
