Overview
The insight was introduced by the welcome which explained what would happen in the event. We were then directed to the hackathon where we did some challenging coding challenges. After that we were introduced to the life panel who talked about their day to day duties and how they got into the position and some tips on internships and how to stand out. The insight then ended on the how to secure an internship, the process behind it and next steps.
Skills
I improved my technical skills the coding challenges. I asked questions when I usually don’t.
Business Insight
It was amazing as the insight day in the life panel gave me insight into how software engineering in the different parts of the company works. We were also told about future internships and tips on how to stand out and pass the stages.
Culture
I loved how everyone in the day panel was energetic and answered questions in detail. I also liked how they had a keen to learn attitude even after many of them were in the same job for over 5 years.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the insight as it really told how a day in the life of a software engineer is at Amazon. I also liked how they don’t have a one coding language requirement and are inclusive to all programming languages.
