Overview
Work shadowing of different practice areas, networking sessions with trainees, a social event with the workshop cohort. Panel talks, a practice area fair and case study workshops, as well as interview and application tips.
Skills
I gained practical work experience from shadowing my trainee in disputes, so developed my legal fluency, having come from a non-law background, while also developing my commercial mindset through partaking in the case study workshop.
Business Insight
It was very insightful attending the practice areas fair which the firm organised. This is becuase I was able to understand and gain greater insight into the different practice areas at the firm, while also getting given a guide from the firm of what the different practice areas consisted of, so I had a vague understanding beforehand when talking to the lawyers at the firm, as I could refer back to this guide.
Culture
Extremely friendly and relaxed.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it a lot. The food the firm provided was amazing such as the Chinese for lunch on the second day and the pancakes in the morning, the social brought the whole cohort together and gave us all a chance to really get to speak to each other and know each other on a deeper level and the law sessions were very interactive. Overall, it was an amazing two-days, I truly enjoyed the workshop.
