    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

    • A true variety of tasks. In the legal teams, vacation students were involved in drafting contracts, attending client meetings, researching new law and preparing bundles. There was also an opportunity to assist in pro bono activities with volunteering and attending firm-wide networking events.

    • I honed my attention to detail and time-keeping skills by working under pressure to deliver work to associates and partners. I also worked on my presentation capabilities by delivering a presentation to the rest of my cohort.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

    • Genuinely, it was really exciting. The firm encouraged all students to engage in the activities as much as possible and this enabled me to take a lot from it. Through partner presentations, I was able to understand how a law firm operates and generates revenue and how, despite the current economic climate, this has meant that there is a drive for recruitment.

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

    • Amazing. The firm is so welcoming and encouraging. RPC appreciate that not everyone comes from a law background so sets tasks at an appropriate level where you feel pushed, but have a strong supportive infrastructure around you to encourage you to grow.

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • I throughly enjoyed the insight at RPC. I was able to take a lot away and apply to my own career. I enjoyed meeting lots of new people but also found the work really rewarding.
