    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • • Overseeing and managing some IT projects from when they start. • Working with the IT directors from regions such as APAC, LATAM, CEMEA, US and Canada, UK and Ireland (the Marsh Tech side of the business), Digital and Victor (line of business side) and other Project teams in order to outline the project scope, goals, plan, track the project progress whilst ensuring that the projects are delivered on time within a reasonable budget. • Creating reports for the Program board derived from Power BI and Excel • Identifying any risks involved and identifying the synergy impact on the business plus any contingency plans. • Updating the stakeholders involved, of any project updates and ensure that the project documentation is complete and accurate. • Supporting Project Managers and PMO in Planning, Delivery, Finance and drafting Business cases.

  • Strong communication skills and capacity to communicate technical data to non-technical colleagues and stakeholders. Great problem-solving skills along with the ability to maintain calm under pressure Team player and always keen to get things right/done as part of the team. Stakeholder engagement and Management Deeper understanding of Data analysis and Visualization whilst using tools like Power Bi and Excel

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have gained hands-on experience in managing and understanding IT projects, which has allowed me to see the impact of my work and contributions to the organization. This will be invaluable in the future as I am interested in pursuing a career in tech. This placement also allowed me to network with industry professionals, which could lead to mentorship, employment, and professional referrals.

  • Pro: Be yourself and always ask for help. You have to be proactive Con: Very easy to get lost as Marsh is such a big company and might not get the help you need if you're not out there. Also not much job prospects and progression if you need it
