    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • You will collaborate with a team of full-time software developers who will provide you tasks and projects as part of your job. For me, everyday work on tickets that the team has given me entails both front end and back end work. The majority of your initial time is spent learning the relevant tools if you are not yet familiar with them. There are lots of networking opportunities available throughout the internship that are beneficial for building new connections.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • By learning about a wide range of technologies and putting it to use, I have acquired a lot of new abilities. Although the majority of these tools are not taught at my institution, they are heavily utilised within the company and outside of it, which is extremely advantageous for my career. This includes tools like Javascript, React, and pipelines for continuous integration and development, among others. I also had the chance to educate myself on AWS services. Additionally, I improved my already-existing Java skills.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • In terms of responsibilities, I was not given many in the first few weeks of the internship. This is a result of the fact that I had to spend some time learning how to utilise most of the tools the team/firm uses, in addition to completing additional required training. However, as the internship went on, I was given more duties, which gave me the chance to use my abilities practically and show off what I had learned.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Without the help of my manager, it would have been confusing for me at first because I had no idea how the company ran, what my team was doing, or what technologies I needed to be familiar with. We set up regular one-on-one sessions so that I could express any questions that came to mind and receive helpful assistance and direction. I also received assistance from my team and other interns when I became stuck on any work so that I could move forward without experiencing significant delays.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • It has a great corporate culture. very feasible to have a hybrid working schedule if you would want, and there is a nice work-life balance. Throughout the internship, the company arranges a variety of networking events that help interns meet people and build relationships that are good for their careers. Everyone seems to be really amiable and eager to engage in conversation, which is a huge plus for newcomers. A fantastic perk of working for the organisation is that it also offers possibilities for sports.

Overall, my satisfaction is with the variety of abilities and real-world experience I gained throughout the internship, which will be useful for my future job. • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to J.P. Morgan
  • I advise everyone who is submitting an application to JP Morgan to learn more about the various business segments. Furthermore, it is crucial to demonstrate your interest in the subject by working on independent projects. This not only demonstrates your will to excel in the area and allows you to acquire more skills that will be put to use during the internship (so you can actually utilise them rather than simply learn about them).amazing
