Overview
We had talks throughout the week from different departments within the company, having the chance to make our own TikToks. We had presentations from the diversity and inclusion teams and networks such as Women at Tiktok and the LGBTQ+ network. 2 days were shadowing a team in the company, overseeing their work and having a chance to have a go at their work.
Skills
I have learnt to be more confident in my abilities through the public speaking conducted through presentations we did throughout the week. It also strengthened my teamwork through the shadowing groups we were in and the TikTok planning we did.
Business Insight
It was made very clear, with a session dedicated to applications with the company, and tips to make an application stand out. We were able to discover the opportunities available and were given deadlines and dates for those roles.
Culture
Very relaxed and comfortable. Everyone said hello to each other and made it feel very homely. The staff were polite and the different networks and groups for different backgrounds showed how welcoming a place TikTok is.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight, as I felt that before coming to TikTok I did not know much about the company itself, but after the experience it has made me appreciate the company as a business that has different elements and aims.
