Overview
A three week vacation scheme split into 2 seats. During each seat you sat with a supervisor and completed work for them and their wider time on a variety of client matters. There were a range of lectures and other events including social engagements put on throughout the three weeks too.
Skills
Yes. Improved commercial awareness. Developed written and oral skills including drafting matters to send to clients. Lots of opportunity to network.
Business Insight
It was done in a very accessible and friendly manner via the supervisor and trainee solicitor mentors (‘buddies’) you’re assigned whilst on the scheme in conjunction with group presentations and events to develop awareness of the roles available and skills required to be successful.
Culture
Very approachable and honest culture. Clearly a place where you need to work hard but done in a purposeful way and with plenty of opportunity to ask for help / explanation.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it very much. It was a very well structured placement with real effort and care invested in giving you a proper but also realistic insight into the company and the work it does.
