    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Network Wired/Wireless Access maintain the hardware/software of our cooperate network. ​ We provide for Customers/Clients all around the world – maintaining the platinum/gold/silver and bronze topology. ​ Also work with the Cloud Edge Defense team/SASE ! ​ Tasks within our team: ​ Upgrading/Installing software onto hardware.​ Monitoring the assurance of the network Infrastructure on sites.​ Talk with clients – dealing with Incidents.​ FMC management/assurance. ​ Creating groups/clients, giving certain permissions - ACL's. ​ Tracking/Managing PSIRTS (Product Security Incident Response Team).

  • With one of teams I worked with I got some support of some people, and other people did not give me support at all. I guess it was a mix really, depends on the team and the people on that team.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I would say nearer the end I started to enjoy my placement, as I was given a lot more freedom to do what needed to be done, as well as my newer team I joined, I got a lot more support of them; they really showed me how well people can work in a team, and brought out the best in me.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Cisco
  • Make sure to always be one step ahead, and try not to let people make you feel useless just because you do not know as much as them. Prove to them that you earned this placement.
