    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Provide technical and commercial support to both new and existing customers, over the phone and email. This includes: Providing quotations Answering relevant queries about the Cytiva product range Communicating with other engineers for custom products Identifying and explaining relevant documents to be sent to customer. Carrying out calculations using company software to appropriately size pressure housings, while seeking the correct information from the customer. Working together with colleagues for more complicated enquiries.

  • I have much improved my communication and organizational skills Technical knowledge on filtration which closely relates to 'Fluids and Thermodynamics' unit at university. I have learnt multiple softwares including Salesforce, SAP and CRM Technical knowledge on the background of Biopharmaceutical processes I also improved problem solving skills when dealing with technical problems/queries

  • Yes, I was dealing directly with customers often independently from very early on. It ranged from very simple work to more complicated projects.

  • I am in a small but tight-knit team who are always there to help and guide if needed. I also have support from my mentor outside of my team.

  • I did enjoy the placement however the work can get repetitive at times, but it depends on what comes in from customers. It was good to know that the work I did was meaningful for the company

  • I have an engineering background, a lot of the work I did heavily relates to Biopharmaceuticals, so it is great if that is an interest of yours. When applying make sure to be enthusiastic and proactive especially in group tasks.
