    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Worked in Post Trade Reporting with MiFID II regulation. Daily tasks included daily metrics for performance and working on my intern project. Daily metrics implied access to dashboards and using excel, and also sending these metrics to stakeholders. Intern project revolved around building a BI tool with alteryx to automate a process. This project was then presented to plenty of analysts, associates and interns in a midterm and a final presentation. Also, communicated with a lot of people setting catch ups.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I learned the basics of MiFID II regulation and Post Trade Reporting. Worked on my excel skills. Learned how to use Alteryx. Developed my communication and presentation skills. Worked on my team work skills, receiving and giving feedback, pitching myself and getting to know other people. Also developed more formal communication, as in speaking in meetings with high positioned people or sending emails to important stakeholders. Took autonomy and responsibility for my work. Developed my English skills.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes. I was autonomous and responsible for the work I was developing. But, at the same time, could also count on the help and support from my team when I had any question or doubt or was stuck in some process or on my project. My team would always help me or direct me to someone who could help me better. The firm gave many materials to develop knowledge and clear any possible doubts. I felt engaged.

  • I loved it. It was my first internship and it brought me a lot of networking and fun times with my colleagues. Worked on a myriad of very important skills and gained knowledge in a lot of things that I had never heard before and were not in the scope of my studies. Grew a lot as a person and as a worker.
