Vacation Scheme Attendee Review

The scheme took place at Taylor Wessing's head office in London over two weeks. Each attendee was assigned to a team for each of the two weeks and given a supervisor and a trainee buddy who provided support throughout. The majority of the scheme was spent completing work assigned by each team. The remaining time was spent attending presentations, workshops, social events and completing a group task.

Time management was a very important skill that I developed. It was very much up to you to decide how much work you would take on, and how you would go about doing it. As it was necessary to attend the presentations and workshops and to complete the group exercise I had to developing my time management in order to ensure that I completed everything to a high standard.

There more many presentations and workshops on the business and life as a trainee and qualified solicitor. In addition, everyone at the firm was approachable and happy to answer any questions you had about the firm (although some were busier than others). As the focus was on securing a training contract there was generally only information on life as a trainee, however, it would have been possible to ask for further information about other roles.

The culture and atmosphere of the firm was very good. Everyone I met was approachable, supportive and made time (often even if they were very busy) to make the two weeks you spend at the firm an informative and enjoyable experience. The firm was also very inclusive and encouraged you to be your true self.

I really enjoyed the insight. The work was interesting, the people (both those at the firm and other interns) were supportive and generally great to work with and the scheme was well structured and paced.
