Overview
The first day on the scheme was essentially based on making participants feel welcome in the firm, from introductory talks to office tours and little trivia game, it allowed everyone to feel included and at ease. It was then focused on introducing some of the core values and practices of the firm, and ended with a social event. The second mirrored the first, although was more focused on networking and talks.
Skills
I believe I learnt a lot from this experience, not only about the firm but also what skills they look for. It is clear now values such as adaptability, communication and intellect are valued at the firm and it was great to passively explore ways to enhance them.
Business Insight
It was very relaxing; law firms and the legal profession in general are perceived as some sort of hermetic compartments where you have to fit a criteria to get it. A&O did an amazing job at making everyone feel included and reminded us of our own individual values and how to exploit them to show our uniqueness.
Culture
Very welcoming, nice and approachable.

I loved my time at A&O because not only was I able to discover more of the firm, but I was also able to connect with people and also foresee myself working there!
Yes
I believe that when you apply to A&O, you should familiarise yourself with the firm (i.e., values, expertise, people) and also try to showcase the skills you possess which the firm look for. Don't be disheartened if you don't have a lot of legal experience, transferable skills are tremendous at showing your worth and merit!
