    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Overall, the internship gives you a realistic picture of a junior banker's daily tasks. Our daily tasks includes information gathering and summarizing, data updating and analysis, slides creation and beautification, communication within and across teams. You are involved in real-life projects of the company and making contribution.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • The internship enhanced my teamwork and communication skills and definitely make me learn how to multitask and work efficiently. The experience also enhanced my technical skills and industry knowledge to be more professional and have more insights.

    Responsibilities

  • Yes. There's quite good exposure to work on real projects. And the slides we created will be added to the final deck, making us feel it's meaningful and with real contribution.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received a lot of support and guidance from the people I worked with. I also get much help from the people and team I sit with. There's also a good support system with mentor, development officer, staffer and buddy across the whole project to help us better enjoy the experience.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • I really like the culture here. It's really diversified and the people here are nice and supportive. Although it's quite a demanding job, people treat each other nice and the people you work with are mostly patient and interesting as a person as well. There're also activities organized by the program, such as speaker series, volunteering and social events for networking, making the experience very engaging.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • Overall, I really enjoy the experience. I got opportunity to work with 3 teams that I'm interested in and the people I worked with are really nice and supportive as well. The people here are also approachable from junior to senior, love to grab a coffee with you and share their stories. It meets my expectation before joining and if I have the chance I will definitely go back and join full time.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Bank of America
  • It's definitely an enjoyable experience and I feel like it has the best culture and support, even work-life balance among the top-tier bulge bracket banks. If there's opportunity, definitely join us. Don't feel afraid if you are from a different background or you don't have prior experience in banking, you can learn most things on the job and there's also training. You can also easily ask for help.
