    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As a Summer Analyst, your role has two key components: learning and support. No prior knowledge is required, but you are expected to proactively get to understand what the teams do and the transactions they deal with. On the other hand, you are asked to give support on various projects and in different forms (update a model, format a slide, take notes during a client call, read a report, ...)

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I acquired a lot of new technical skills and developed my university knowledge in getting to know the products the teams deal with and how they are actually modelled and treated in real transactions. On a more personal note, being this my first internship, I learn fundamental soft skills to succeed in a professional workplace and to understand how a huge corporation is organized

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

  • 7. Would you recommend Goldman Sachs Group to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Goldman Sachs Group
  • Be yourself as much as possible. There is not a "typical" profiled hired by the company. Bring what makes you interesting at the interviews and show intellectual curiosity together with willingness to learn. No prior knowledge is required, but be sure to properly know what an Investment Bank does and why you want to work for it. If you study finance, expect some technical questions
