  • I was able to lead the department monthly meeting I presented on behalf of the senior management to international transmission owners I led an improvement project

  • A lot. My team and manager have been very accommodating and helpful. Help is always given to those who ask at national grid. You are encouraged to ask questions.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Amazing. A very kind and supportive atmosphere 95% of the time. Where it lacked was during stressful periods. I always felt supported and cared about.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I loved it. I’m so glad I did it and have gained a few new skills as well as lots of experience of working with a professional team. I got to follow work that I enjoyed and was given opportunities to go on site visits.

  • Read up on the company first (including legal separation!) to show you care. Have a balance of technical and business knowledge. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Show you value team work and national grid’s values.
