    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Respond to general HR queries through our teams shared mailbox. Meetings with the HR team or people within the business. Supporting on different HR projects that are going on at that time. Supporting HR activities such as, onboarding new starters, and any general onboarding queries. Liaising with the finance, recruitment and IT team.

  • Learnt and Developed on: - Time management and organisation skills throughout the day in order to get several tasks done with most efficiency and effectiveness. - Improved decision making skills. - Improved confidence around presenting information. - Improved communication skills, particularly the importance of asking questions, and networking with others around the business to step out of my comfort zones.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was presented with various work and projects which gave me more responsibility within the HR team. For example: - Onboarding new starters - Following the employee lifecycle processes - Carrying out HR inductions - Completing contractor extensions - Support on testing the new HR system we had in place - Providing support on any HR activities and general HR queries that came in

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • The support and guidance at MMT Digital has been amazing. Particularly, my HR manager and the HR team provided a supportive environment where I could learn key HR skills and be given the responsibility to carry out certain tasks. In addition, the learning and development team provided learning sessions which helped support the development of key soft skills that I was able to improve on throughout my placement and take into my final year.

  • MMT Digital is a great place to work. It focuses it's workplace culture around it's 3 core values; fairness, commercialism and quality. MMT Digital continually provides a supportive and fun environment to work in.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have really enjoyed my time at MMT digital as a HR Administrator. I have had numerous learning opportunities within HR, as well as getting involved in social groups for the organisation of wider business social activities. Most importantly, I have been able to develop and improve on my HR knowledge through working on the job which is essential to take away into my final year. I couldn't recommend MMT Digital enough!

  • - Take every opportunity you can. - Build your social networking by stepping out of your comfort zone and put yourself out there. - As a placement student, don't be afraid to ask questions. You are there to learn on the job and understand more about your job role to gain experience.
