  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have loved my year on placement at Xerox. Very casual, fun working environment whilst being given real responsibility.

  • I work in a great team- everyone gets on no matter what position they are in the team.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager is quite relaxed with regards to appraisals etc. but they do let me know how I am getting on, on a regular basis.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It can vary depending on the time of the month, some times I really am very busy. However, I do get quieter times in the month where I can catch up.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility during this year. I am glad I was as it made me feel like a valued member of the team.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • This year has enhanced my computer skills, also the experience of accounting in the "real world" is something which I could not have learnt in the classroom.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • My team were very fun, always talking about Football or the latest weekends.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well, I was provided with information regarding accommodation for when I started. My line manager contacted me concerning my first day. Also, I had a two week handover period with my student which really helped.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There were a number of online resources/ courses which I could go online and complete.

  • The team which I was a part of is growing in the next couple of years so I believe there is a good chance of future employment.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, there is approx. 40 students based on the same site. All live near each other and go out together.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The local area was cheap, however we tend to go into London which can be a very expensive night out.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Not very good, the area is not very nice.

  • I am sure there are if you searched for some, I personally did not experience any to comment.
