    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Starting with a morning meeting ritual everyday of the week except Saturdays. Straight after we get on with our new assigned leads and get calling. We start filling the diary for the viewing coordinators for the day and the following days. We follow up on previous day’s viewings for feedback. If we have an offer, we begin the negotiation process with both parties, the applicant and the landlord. Once agreed, we move on to the right to rent checks before processing the deal to the management department. All relevant documents must be signed before sending off the deal for progressions. During the afternoons, we normally work on the business development side, where we would rigorously cold call for stock canvassing for an hour or two. Then, we get back on taking any enquiries or answering the phones for enquiries is going on continuously on the sidelines all day. Before the day ends we follow up for feedback on the viewings already conducted to pick on the interest. We also tend to give the feedbacks to the landlords regarding the viewings the following day to keep them posted with everything.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Absolutely!! I got a chance to oversee the department for a week in my manager’s absence, when I was reporting directly to the directors. On many occasions, I was giving the lead to train the viewing coordinators and sometimes the new comers alongside my manager. Furthermore, I got opportunities to go on property valuations and even did sales pitches to get portfolio clients. Ensuring the diaries for the viewings are done properly for the viewing coordinators to avoid any problems on the go.
