Overview
1. Assisting analysts and associates on multiple deal teams within Commercial Real Estate. 2. Research into commercial real estate assets such as offices and hotels. Perform comparable and precedent assets analysis.
Skills
1. Excel and PowerPoint shortcuts. 2. Increased understanding on an investment banks credit committee process on transactions. 3. Better understand on different CRE assets and different RE metrics used to assess debt financing potential.
Responsibilities
1. Involved in 2 live transactions and given fairly good amount of responsibility when working on an internal debt financing proposal. 2. Worked closely with analysts and associates on a weekly basis and presented ESG research project to senior members of the bank.
Support & Guidance
1. Maintained strong relationships with the CRE Debt team even after the internship. 2. Given mid and final internship reviews which were helpful for my personal development
Culture
1. Culture was very collaborative and everyone from HR to the team which I interned under were great in getting interns involved despite their busy schedules.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed the internship as it gave me a excellent opportunity to experience the sector I was working in and more importantly help me build good relationships with the people within the bank.

1. Collaboration is highly valued in the bank and use experiences that you have done to highlight this skillset. 2. Always try to be yourself and be a team player. 3. Do research on the history of RBC and link it to the future plans of the firm, particularly in the region or city you are applying to.
