    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Produced month end and weekly performance reports. This delivered meaningful MI, to help stakeholders made informed decisions, and enabled finance business partners insight to focus on continuous improvement. Networked with graduates, colleagues, and senior managers. Attended meetings to improve my commercial awareness of LBG.

  • Through producing reports I have improved my excel skills. I have also learnt how to use Microsoft Teams. The workshops have allowed me to develop my influencing and confidence skills.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I have been given responsibility through supporting a senior manager in a project, specific to my division. I have also been given the responsibility to run reports, which have been handed over to me, and create process notes for the reports.

  • I was given strong support and help when needed. The colleagues were very helpful, kind, and patient if there was something I was struggling with. I was also given lots of guidance in relation to learning about my future career path, and further qualifications.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The general atmosphere is very positive. All colleagues are motivated and happy to work. The company is also pushing plenty of diversity initiatives, which shows good progression.

  • I really enjoyed my internship. It has improved both my personal and professional development, and I have learnt a lot over the last 10 weeks which I will definitely use in the future.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Lloyds Banking Group
  • I would suggest researching the culture and values in LBG, including diversity and sustainability. It is important to understand why these are important, and how you can relate to these. Also, connect with previous interns on LinkedIn and have a conversation about what they did, so you can talk about it during the interview. Finally, take some intro to excel courses before you start.
