    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There is never a dull moment and always something to get involved with on the marketing team. Although there have naturally been high pressure moments there is definitely a "work hard, pay hard" work ethic here.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • There is definitely a team spirit here which I feel encourages a feeling of responsibility in all projects you are involved in. I have additionally been given a number of projects to manage on my own accord.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I don't think you can compare the skills you learn at university to those that you learn on a placement programme. I feel that I am now far better prepared for my final year at university and have even had a lot of advice and encouragement regarding my imminent dissertation.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • An open-plan environment meant you are surrounded by your colleagues and are encouraged to integrate with everyone in all departments, be that within working hours or Friday evenings at the pub - I can't fault it.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • My first week kick-started with an induction alongside a number of new employees entering the graduate scheme which was very well organised. Since then (quite rightly) it has been my responsibility to get ensure the university side of my placement has been kept up to date, although I have found my line manager very encouraging with this.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Given the size of the company I feel that I am constantly being 'trained' to a degree. In addition I will be attending conferences and exhibitions in London and Newport this summer.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There is currently no graduate scheme set up for the departmental areas in which I would be looking to enter. That being said the company is still experiencing growth in resource, perhaps in the future - who knows!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • An impromptu visit to the pub at the end of the week is usually attended. Additionally there are departmental events run by the company throughout the year as well as the Christmas party.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I moved back home during my placement for the lower rent which was a 40minute commute to work so for me cost of living was cheaper and the socialising was standard to what I am used to.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Newbury offers mainly pubs but Reading is a short train journey away which has a fair amount of options being a university town.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Socialising amongst the team was always encouraged.
