Overview
We had scheduled sessions, formal and informal networking, group work, assessed tasks, socials, pro-bono shadowing, diversity & inclusion events and independent work within the department.
Skills
I undertook a variety of tasks, which developed a range of skills. I was able to utilise my research skills, but also further developed my ability to summarise complex concepts and communicate them clearly in a way that is suitable for clients and my supervisor. The group exercise also allowed me to further learn how to work as part of a team.
Business Insight
My vacation scheme at Taylor Wessing gave me insights into areas of law, such as Private Wealth, that I had not considered before. It also provided an insight into its cutting-edge sectors focus, clientele, variety of work and opportunities for innovation, client and international secondments.
Culture
From the events, socials, networking, and diversity and pro-bono activities, it became obvious to me that Taylor Wessing is a friendly firm that attracts intelligent friendly people. You could feel the atmosphere of camaraderie and community.
Your Impressions
I felt that the vacation scheme was really enjoyable because I was able to get to grips with the firm, Taylor Wessing's culture and what it would be like to work for them as a trainee. The vacation scheme gave me the opportunity to enjoy myself while working there for the week.
