    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • The Vacation Scheme involved a series of talks from the various practice areas, as well as presentations from the pro bono and D&I societies and the innovation team. Throughout the week, we were given opportunities to network with people throughout the firm. There were also three assessed tasks, one of which was timed. Each day started with a chat with members of the Graduate Recruitment team and ended with a self reflection survey.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The practice area task undoubtedly enhanced my research skills as I had to look up areas of the law that I was unfamiliar with. I developed my organisational skills by effectively managing an extremely busy schedule. I also built on my verbal communication skills by having meetings with people throughout the firm.

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • It was incredibly useful to gain an insight into how a law firm operates as a business. Not only did we have talks from the various practice areas, but we also had presentations from other departments throughout the firm such as the innovation team, which gave me a feel for TW in its wider context.
