    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to effectively network with Bank representatives, and retain strong relations with my network. During the analysis of the M&A case study, I have developed a deeper understanding of what investment bankers look at when advising companies on their transactions, namely the technicals they leverage to value companies, and determine potential deal synergies.

    Your Impressions

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The Insight was incredibly enjoyable. I particularly liked the networking session within Global Corporate and Investment Banking as this gave me a chance to gain a real insight into their work on deals, and the firm culture. The M&A case study gave a really unique view of how a typical M&A deal lifecycle, and how the various sub-divisions get involved during the process.

  • 8. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bank of America
  • Know your CV inside-out. Be able to explain how each experience has contributed towards you wishing to work at an Investment Bank, and what skills can be transferred from each of your experiences. For the M&A case-study during the Assessment centre, know some high-level technicals in some depth, namely Valuation Methodologies, Valuation Multiples, Enterprise Value vs Equity Value, 3 Financial Statements. Try and network with those at Bank of America to understand company culture.
