    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • - Developed strong communication skills from the extensive external training we were given in advance - Gained more confidence (GS offer a very friendly work environment, where you can reach out to anyone for help and support) - Learned more about what the Banking Sector entails, and to determine if its a place where I could see myself - Gained strong team work skills from preparing a presentation with 2 other peers

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • Although working at an Investment Bank can seem daunting at first, Goldman Sachs went above and beyond to make sure that everyone felt comfortable and could engage. We were given lots of information about the division as a whole, and had an Educational Series which allowed us to ask questions and engage with individuals on specific areas. The programme organisers were really amazing, and gave us time to schedule meetings with them personally also.

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Although external sources may sometimes form negative connotations around GS, this could not be further from the truth. Everyone within the firm would happily take time out of their busy schedule to speak to you 1 to 1, allowing you to ask questions surrounding the culture, specific role, or educational insights. Team work and a family culture prevails within GS, where you are encouraged to play to your strengths and develop a strong network where you can reach out for support.
