The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship and found it a very positive experience
I feel like my work was always appreciated and that my colleagues were grateful for my contribution
There was a fantastic mentoring system in place, which provided lots of different points of contact from various parts of the firm. This was especially useful for career guidance and broadening perspectives
I was very busy on the whole, particularly in the first half of the internship as August is naturally a quieter period. On a day to day basis I often go busier as the day progressed.
I was given a lot of responsibility and more and more as the internship progressed. Once I had demonstrated by capabilities and sharpened some technical skills I was trusted more with important tasks
The training sessions provided by the firm were very useful as they gave me the understanding I needed when starting on the desk on the first day
The Company
Very positive - everyone was willing to help and answer questions. Lots of nice social events also
There was good consistency throughout both halves which meant it felt like one internship rather than two. I felt like there were lots of events and talks put on to broaden our experience and these were organised well advance
Greatly, not only in terms of time spent explaining things but also in hiring an external vendor for a training week
