The Role
I found my placement very interesting and insightful. People did sit down with me to explain how to improve my performance and how to make the most of my time at the firm. Despite the hours and the intensive nature of the work, I overall feel this has been a life changing experience.
I felt there were many people that actually took the time to get to know me well and where interested in what I had to say. I have made a couple of really close friends that I'm sure I'll keep forever. Feedback sessions are greatly valued and I feel they have been a useful tool for my personal and professional development.
I have been very positively surprised in discovering how other team members with more responsibility than me sat down to explain how work should be done. I learned a lot by asking questions as I came across several people that were willing to answer my doubts, help me understand what I did not know and support me in developing new skills.
Very very busy. The main drawback regarding my internship is the way the day is structured. There are times that, during the day, there is not an excessive amount of work to be done, but then the work load usually comes in in the evening, which means that you're required to stay long night hours.
I am happily impressed by the amount of exposure I have been given and how, from the very first day, I started interacting with senior people. I understand that responsibility comes with experience but I still have felt that my work is valued and needed and that it actually has an impact on the final output that is brought forth and this is always very rewarding.
I know this internship has changed many aspects of my professional and personal skill set. The firm has invested a lot of time in me which has ultimately made my learning curve impressively steep. I hope to be able to continue my work here given that I'm willing to learn more and make the most of all the firm has to offer.
The Company
I have met really amazing people that have literally made my days. Despite the long hours and all the stress, it's ultimately the team that helps you push back and keep work on track. There are many people willing to help and, in times of struggle, there will always be a person ready to listen and advice you.
The firm invests a lot of time in trying to help you make the most of our internship. Not only training sessions are provided, but many network events to help us get to know the firm as well. Additionally and most importantly, the team you are placed in is generally committed to teaching you and helping you develop a professional skill set.
As mentioned in previous answers, I feel the firm is keen on investing in you. My team has given me exposure to seniors and clients, has sat down to explain the numerous questions I faced and really made an effort to help me make the most of time here. Moreover, I have always felt backed by my colleagues and always new I had a person I could reach out to to ask for advice.

Working at GS is an amazing opportunity: you will work with top professionals, develop a life-valuable skill set and learn every single day. You will also be given the opportunity to increase your network and to work for major worldwide firms.
The Culture
The firm does make an effort to organize several social events and motivates interaction between our intern promotion in order to enhance our internship experience. Despite the long working hours, I've also developed a special bond with a couple of colleagues. If you're going to spend so much time working, at least let it me with people that are worth while.
The firm motivates us to organize catch-ups in order to meet as many people as possible. I've been positively surprised by how responsive people are when you do reach out. People are also happy to talk about their own experience and advice you on what's best to do in times of struggle.
Fun nightlife with people that are always in to do something. The intensity of the job doesn't always leave room to do too much but the time that we do have off we surely enjoy. The city is busy and has a lot to offer so you'll never get bored, that's for sure.
The intensity of the work doesn't really leave much time to engage in other activities outside of work, specially at a junior level. However, if you efficiently organize your time, you could potentially fit in leisure and other activities, hence it is not common. This is a draw back related to the nature of the work.
