The Role
Had a constantly active time over the 10 weeks and was never bored. Very excited to be coming back next year. I learnt a lot in only 10 weeks and challenged myself quite a bit. Met some great people too.
I appreciated the fact that each desk I was on said that I had potential and enabled me to take on as much as I wanted. The only reason that it is not higher is because (although it may not have been possible) I would have liked to have had some tasks over the 10 weeks that contributed more to the team (One or two came towards the end of the internship).
Desk captains were very willing to give feedback however, at times I felt as though some feedback was intentionally less direct. HCM was extremely helpful, I enjoyed my weekly catch ups but I wish they could have been longer and potentially more in-depth. I really appreciated the constructive criticism and tried to be on top of the situations, I would have liked more detail on this though. For obvious reasons I couldn't have known what desks gave what feedback about me but I may have benefited from knowing some specific instances in which some of the constructive feedback was given (just to make sure that I wasn't overlooking anything).
Always had tasks throughout which I enjoyed however, when it got to about week 6 and I was trying to manage work for multiple desks whilst networking also, it was quite difficult.
(Although it may not have been possible) I would have liked to have had some tasks over the 10 weeks that contributed more to the team (One or two came towards the end of the internship).
This internship has really pushed forward my personal growth and development - it has humbled me, boosted my confidence and enabled me to be more flexible in terms of the way that I handle tasks. I intend to take this moving forward, in part in the management of my own organisation at the moment - and I look forward to being back next year.
