    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have enjoyed the work a lot, I have been working on a project which helped me learn new skills and develop the ones I already had. The only issues I had was the support I had from my manager, I asked for continuous feedback and I was never given a clear one. My team was also not very professional and made me feel a bit uncomfortable at times

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I think that so far my keen interest in getting the project done and add extra features to it was not appreciated enough. I have received comments that were not very professional from some of my colleagues that were not told to me directly. I didn’t really get appreciation for the work I have done.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I have received some support from my manager but I didn’t really get a clear feedback and I couldn’t understand if what I was doing was the right thing or not since I wasn’t told that the work I have been doing was good either. I didn’t really get to speak to my manager much since he was very busy

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • At the beginning I was not very busy but after 2 weeks when my project was given to me I started to working hard on it to ensure that all the requirements were met until the deadline. In the end I managed to even add extra features to my project that were not supposed to be done

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My responsibility was pretty big since I had to write a new web application from scratch. I always had work to do and the project I was working on will be used after I will leave the company. I had the opportunity to push something into production in the first two weeks of my internship

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think the skills i have learned will help me a lot in the future. I have learned completely new skills that I have never done before which now I feel pretty comfortable to use. I also learned about what it means to work in a company and what corporate life actually means

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The general atmosphere in the office was a very good one at the beginning, my colleagues seemed very very nice and friendly, towards the end I started to realise that they would make comments about their coworkers that were very unprofessional, this made me very uncomfortable, they made comments about me too which made me feel like not wanting to go to work

    2/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The work was very well organised, our team was very well managed from this point of view with daily stand-ups and weekly plannings and catchups. The internship was very well organised,hr is very helpful and they always keep in touch with the interns trying to help as much as they can

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I consider that this internship helped me develop completely new programming skills as well as developing my old ones, I have received a lot of help during the 10 weeks to ensure that I can finish my project in time and even to add extra requirements since I had more time
