The Role
Very good benefits and support. People are very nice and helpful, and it makes the whole process very enjoyable. There are hard days due to difficult and stressful deadlines and deliverables, but overall the people I worked with made it very easy to cope with. Overall I feel motivated to work every single day.
People are very nice here, and my team makes me feel like home in a very short time. I have gotten support where I need, and I feel ready and able to contribute to the team as we are a tight-knit group. We know each other at a personal basis, but still are able to be professional in the company setting.
My managers were very good despite being busy - they were always ready to give support or guide me on my project/deliverables. The company could however improve their HR - it seems always like the slowest part of every process. Overall, very excellent support and guidance system and effort put in by my superiors.
There's always something to do, if not, there's always something you can find to contribute to the team or just keep yourself busy on your own accord. There's a lot of freedom in how you can tailor your work day, so as long as I set realistic and clear goals with my manager everything is fine.
I was given full access to production environments and my project involved building and uplifting processes in a trading pipeline that processes half a million trades a day. The only times I felt like an intern were during the intern events - otherwise, I was treated like a full-time staff with real responsibilities.
Gained valuable people and technical skills, realised what skills are important in my degree course, and definitely augmented my understanding of many core skills acquired in my degree. I have also experienced first hand how core skills in my degree are applied in a financial and business context, which led to me appreciating my degree more.
The Company
Varies from team to team, but fortunately everyone in my team is up for a chat and ready to help each other when needed. Times can be stressful but we can always rely on each other for a good laugh. Very pleasant people - very sure a very important entry criteria for the company is to be a nice person.
Very well organised, with well-planned activities throughout. There were, however, some problems but overall it was good. Communication from HR and team prior to joining was good, and someone is always ready to help you in office hours. Projects are well planned and well managed, and activities are spread throughout the internship.
A lot of focus on learning and getting the best resources. There are myriad training resources available for free for every employee, interns included. Everyone is very encouraged to pick up new skills from time to time, and I really feel that the firm is very invested in its people, me included.

Very appealing. Getting along very well with the team and also have been performing above expectations in my work. The firm is very generous with offers to interns, but the ultimate decision lies with the managing team, but I believe I have got a good chance at scoring a graduate job at the firm.
The Culture
Most of my fellow interns were very smart, driven, and motivated people, and it definitely feels great to surround myself with these people who make me realise that there are many things that I should learn and also many things we can learn from each other. Drinks and dinners are a common thing.
Central London can be quite expensive at times; however, this is offset by a very good compensation, even for interns. Drinking can be affordable once you know where to go, and lunch/dinner at work or surrounding restaurants are reasonably priced. Usually team lunches/socials are subsidised by the firm, which underscores the importance of social interaction within team members.
Amazing. Lots of choices around - bars, pubs, clubs, anything you can ask for - it's central London.
Yes during weekends. Weekdays can get quite busy but you are free to leave whenever as long as you are delivering adequate quality on your work.
