Summer analyst Review

I met very smart and interesting colleagues willing to talk to me and explain to me some salient points of their job. I was exposed to a lot of technical and timely information. I completed interesting projects and I supported analyst in their daily tasks. Overall, a positive experience that I would recommend.

Initially I wasn’t able to help much, but as the internship progressed and I learnt to do analysts’ task I was able to provide more help. At this point in the internship I felt more valuable and therefore motivated. Completing my two projects also contributed to make me feel more valued.

I was given considerable guidance by analysts and I felt I could ask them questions. Some managers were also very willing to explain their job and talk, however receiving guidance from them was harder due to their very busy schedules. Anyway they gave me constructive and valuable feedback upon which to improve.

At the beginning of the internship I wasn’t really busy, but after about a week I started to be. July has been extremely intense. On the other hand, August was a little quieter due to the holiday period in Italy. Despite this, I have always been able to complete my tasks.

I was given a risk less amount of responsibility. My two projects did not involve clients directly and the business purpose was to help bankers and analysts. However, I believe it was important to be diligent anyway and a “good” job as opposed to a “bad” one always impacted the business.

I developed self awareness and communication skills that are useful in many aspects of life, including future job applications and interviews. I improved my analytical skills and my efficiency, which may support me in my studies or future jobs. I was also able to start building a network of professionals.

The atmosphere was as positive as it could be and I never felt negatively about going to work. Colleagues were nice and tried their best to include me and make me feel part of the team. I went along well with them and had fun and I would enjoy working with them full time

The internship was well organized, especially the training in London. My tasks and projects were well explained. It was great to have feedback opportunities upon which to improve and campus recruitment was effective in its communication and always available for questions. I never felt I was left by myself. Inclusive environment is a considerable strength.

During the training week in London the company definitely invested a considerable amount of resources in us. We were able to meet senior speakers which gave away their time and HR did a great job as well, which probably kept them busy. During the internship, colleagues also invested their time talking to us

J.P. Morgan confirms itself as a great organization to work for, especially thanks to the stimulating environment. Colleagues are smart and friendly and you can build a considerable network as well as enjoy working with them. J.P. Morgan drive for excellence and diligent way of conducting business are also appealing

Milan city center is relative expensive, especially compared to the intern salary in Italy. I was absolutely not able to live off my salary during those two months. The accomodation is particularly expensive. The nightlife and transportation is expensive as well. There are more expensive cities but Milan is not cheap at all
