    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I did enjoy this insight quite a lot. It extended my knowledge of global environmental issues and the challenges we face as a planet. It was quite interesting to explore these and their effects on the modern world in such a great depth that I have not explored before this insight.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued during my time at the company. This is because I felt as though they taught me quite a bit and placed me first so I felt like they valued me enough to teach me about all these issues so I could give back to them and help them.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received a lot of guidance during this insight from the employees there. They taught me a lot about the different issues our planet is facing today and helped me in exploring these issues and their potential effects in both the near and distant future, as well as discussing short-term and long-term solutions to combat these problems.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think that the information I received regarding global issues will help me as I finish my degree as I will have extra information to help me understand other things and information to make me stand out. After university, this information will help me in the future as I move into a related job hopefully.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was quite well structured as each week, we focused on a different issue, slowly delving deeper into it through discussions, lectures and more. This was a really effective strategy as it laid the foundaitons for my knowledge before building on it to greater levels so I could understand the difficult stuff.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmopshere during my insight was very nice. I worked with the students and the employees and they were friendly so I could socialise with them, talking to them about the work as well as their social life and this communication was necessary for us to work effectively together and for me to learn.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I think that the company did invest everything into me as they gave me so much rich knowledge about the global issues we are facing and they also gave me loads of different perceptions on these issues so I could see them from many different angles to find my own view on the issue.

    3/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insight did help me to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company as we explored global issues similar to the issues the agency works with and we considered them in many different ways as they would. Furthermore, we discussed potential solutions to such problems that could be implemented in different lengths of time.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight was really helpful in understanding company culture. By working with the employees and learning from them, I saw their raw passion for working there and their passion to make a positive impact on the world, improving it and perhaps even using the ideas discussed to somewhat solve or mitigate these issues.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content of the day was helpful in deciding a future career path. Before this, I was quite stuck as what to do with a degree in geography. However, this job has made me realise the link with geography and global issues and how I could become potentially involved in raising awareness for or even helping to solve these problems.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was paid which was really good as I was learning there so did not expect to be paid as I was not exactly working there. This also meant that I did not have to worry about my travel costs or my lunch costs and this was really nice of them.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were opportunities to meet employees of the company or firm. However, I only got to meet a few. Perhaps this was beneficial for me as I could build a stronger relationship with them and this made it easier to learn from them than if I did not have such a strong relationship with many employees.

    4/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Within work, it was nice to talk to them as I was able to learn from them and increase my own knowledge while having fun. On breaks, I could talk to them on a more personal level and get to know them which made the learning much more easier as there was open communciation.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I did find out about a few activities that employees can get involved in outside work. I was told about a few conventions where they would discuss such issues on a wider scale with many people to see many different opinions on tackling it and mitigating it which would be quite cool to see.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend this insight. Not only did this provide me with valuable experience and new information, but it also gave me a wider understanding of the world we live in and the issues we are currently facing as a planet, and I know that even the smallest role helps in this.
